Role Overview
Saunoa is seeking an organized, grounded, and proactive Operations Manager to lead daily floating sauna operations on the waterfront in Toronto and Ottawa. In this role, you will oversee a passionate team of 5–8 Sauna Hosts, manage site logistics, handle scheduling and inventory, and ensure our hot-and-cold contrast therapy experience operates at the highest standard of hospitality, warmth, and safety.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Support: Lead, mentor, and schedule a team of 5–8 Sauna Hosts. Conduct hiring, onboarding, performance reviews, and foster a supportive, accountable team culture.
Scheduling & Payroll Coordination: Build weekly shift rosters balancing morning (6:30 AM – 2:30 PM) and evening (2:15 PM – 10:15 PM) shifts. Track hours, handle shift coverage, and process bi-weekly payroll reports.
On Site Shifts: The manager is expected to work a minimum of 3 shifts per week on site.
Inventory & Supply Management: Monitor, order, and manage stock levels for essential oils, firewood/heating materials, towels, cleaning supplies, and guest amenities to prevent shortages.
Operational & Facility Oversight: Ensure seamless execution of daily opening/closing procedures, temperature controls, sanitation standards, and maintenance across sauna and cold plunge units.
Guest Care Escalation: Act as the primary point of contact for complex guest inquiries, feedback, and site incidents, maintaining Saunoa's values of community and wellness.
Tech & Admin Management: Utilize internal tools (Connecteam, Periode, and GSuite) to keep operations, team communications, and task checklists organized.
Requirements & Qualifications
Experience: 1–2+ years of supervisory or managerial experience in hospitality, wellness, physical recreation, or customer service.
Administrative Skills: Proven ability to manage shift scheduling, basic payroll administration, and inventory/vendor orders.
Physical Ability: Comfortable working on-site in varying outdoor temperatures (hot sauna and cold environments), standing for extended periods, and lifting up to 20 lbs.
Schedule Flexibility: Availability across mornings, evenings, and weekends to oversee operations during peak guest traffic.
Certifications: CPR/AED with First Aid (can be obtained during onboarding).
